How we source, review, and update the information on FakeLawyerReport.

Reviewed July 2026 by the FakeLawyerReport editorial team

Accuracy

Every legal claim on this site is checked against a primary source before publication: the actual state statute, state-bar rule, federal regulation, or reported opinion. Where we cite a penalty range, a filing deadline, or a specific procedure, that citation exists in a live public source and was verified within the last 12 months. Statutes evolve; when we're notified that a page is out-of-date, we update or unpublish it.

Author and reviewer credentials

Articles are drafted by our in-house editorial team and reviewed by a licensed U.S. attorney before publication. State-specific pages are additionally reviewed against that state's UPL statute and bar rules by the editorial team.

Independence

We are not paid by any of the operators, businesses, or platforms we describe. FakeLawyerReport is funded by Javitch Law Office; the firm's economics depend on victims recovering — not on referrals from any advertiser.

Updates and corrections

Each substantive page carries a "Reviewed" date at the top. When we materially update a page we advance that date. If you find a factual or legal error, email corrections@fakelawyerreport.com with the URL and a link to the primary source; we correct within 5 business days and note significant corrections at the bottom of the page.

What this site is not

  • It is not legal advice. Reading a page — even a very specific one — does not create an attorney-client relationship or apply the law to your situation.
  • It is not exhaustive. UPL law varies by state and county, and facts change outcomes. If you want your case evaluated, use the intake form.
  • It is not a lawyer directory. When we refer you to counsel, that attorney has been vetted for licensure and UPL experience in your state.

Attorney advertising

This site is attorney advertising under the rules of the California State Bar. Prior results do not guarantee a similar outcome. Eligibility and case value depend on the specific facts and applicable law.
